None of NDC adverts went against Free SHS policy – Mahama

Former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama has denied ever sponsoring series of adverts against the Free SHS policy prior to the 2012 and 2016 general elections.

Dr Bawumia had accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for sponsoring over 40 adverts against the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme.

Speaking recently at the Nation Building Updates, Dr Bawumia claimed that, “The NDC even went to the Supreme Court to stop Free SHS. They ran over 40 adverts against Free SHS. Today the NDC and their flagbearer are looking at us and saying that they started free SHS.”

Reacting to this in an interview with GhOne TV, the former President said the stance of the NDC remained and that the policy should not be introduced on whimpses of a desperate politician.

The former President of Ghana said he was been prophetic because from all indications, the implementation has been very poor.

“I was been prophetic, the implementation has been very poor and that is what has ended in the double track. That is what has ended up in our Free Senior High School programme been the most expensive one in the world, very wasteful. It’s not true, none of our adverts went against free SHS. None of our adverts, show me. That’s the thing with the NPP, they just talk talk without prove”
