NPP Honours Kwabena Boadu
The late Kwabena Boadu, a former Press Secretary of Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has been honoured posthumously.
The National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by Henry Nana Boakye, has instituted an award programme in honour of the memory of the late Kwabena Boadu.
Dubbed the ‘Kwabena Boadu Youth Icon Awards’, the awards ceremony has been instituted by the NPP youth wing exactly three years after the demise of Mr. Boadu.
The maiden Kwabena Boadu Youth Icon Awards is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 6, 2019 during the NPP National Youth Conference at the UDS campus, Tamale.
The annual awards ceremony would be organized alongside a ‘Memorial Public Lectures’ also in the memory of the late Mr. Kwabena Boadu.
Henry Nana Boakye aka ‘Nana B’, speaking with The New Publisher, recounted the huge sacrifices that Kwabena Boadu made for the NPP before his death.
“Kwabena was an asset to the NPP and Ghana; a trusted advisor, intelligent, passionate, calm, honest, discreet, loyal, funny, hardworking, committed and loyal”.
He said “until his sudden and painful demise, he was a staunch and loyal member of the NPP Youth Wing and Press Secretary of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia”.
“Kwabena Boadu Youth Icon Awards aims at acknowledging and rewarding young political strategists and activists with promising political careers, who have contributed to the Danquah, Dombo and Busia tradition.
“It will reward budding talents of the tradition, who have shown enormous selfishness, dedication, diligence, loyalty, honesty and sacrifice in the service to the tradition”, he said.
