NPP hot in 5 Ashanti constituencies
THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP) was unable to get itself together to elect executives for five constituencies in the Ashanti Region over the weekend as planned.
The affected constituencies includes Atwima Kwanwoma, Asante Mampong, Manhyia North, Fomena and Kumawu, THE NEW PUBLISHER is aware.
Ideally, the ruling political party had planned to organize its constituency elections in all the 47 constituencies in the region from Thursday to Sunday.
Unfortunately, the important party elections to elect the next batch of constituency executives, were only organized in 42 constituencies, falling short of five.
Snippets of information reaching the paper indicated that some aggrieved members of the party in the five constituencies secured court injunctions.
These aggrieved members, reportedly, complained bitterly that free and fair was not observed in their areas, hence heading to court to seek injunctions.
Sources within the ruling political party in the region have disclosed that the NPP leadership were finding it extremely difficult to deal with the injunctions situation.
According to them, the party leadership is racing behind time to organize the polls in the five areas to enable the regional polls to take place in late May 2022.
The sources noted that the party leadership have therefore decided to engage top legal brains to work and ensure that the five areas would be clear led to vote this week.
Meanwhile, the paper has reliably gathered that the Atwima Kwanwoma NPP would go to court on Friday to seek clearance from court to vote the next day.
