THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) wants to win 31 new parliamentary seats to add to its already 169 seats during the December 7 polls.
Aside targeting you win the 31 additional seats from their political opponents, the ruling political party would also protect its 169 seats.
The NPP believes that increasing its seats in parliament from 169 to 200 would make governance easy and comfortable for the party.
This ambition was disclosed by the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso, Hon. Kennedy Kankam, who was speaking on radio in Kumasi.
According to him, winning 200 seats would not be a difficult task for the party, stressing that operation 200 MP seats for the NPP is attainable.
Kennedy Kankam lost the NPP primaries at Nhyiaeso so he would not be returning to parliament on January 7, 2021.
“We are winning 31 fresh MP seats to increase our total seats in parliament to 200 and this is possible because President Akufo-Addo has performed well.
“We shall campaign on Nana Akufo-Addo’s positive track records in political office to win 200 seats in parliament”, Kennedy Kankam boldly predicted.
He said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) stood no chance to snatch political power from the NPP “after our good performance”.
Kennedy Kankam called on the electorates to maintain the NPP in political office for four more years to sustain the ongoing transformation.
