MEMBERS OF the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ejisu are suspecting arson in the fire outbreak that gutted their chairman’s house.
The private residence of Mr. Samuel Oduro Frimpong, the Ejisu NPP Chairman, was totally burnt on December 8, 2020, a day after the national elections.
Eye witnesses said a lit candle started the fire from the back of the house and it traveled at top speed, causing massive destruction.
As a result of the strange fire, electronic gadgets and other household items were consumed by the inferno, which started in the afternoon.
Even though officials of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were yet to identify what caused the fire, eye witnesses suspected an arson.
They said for the fact that a candle had been identified as the source of the blaze, gave credence to their suspicion of a possible arson case.
Meanwhile, Mr. Frimpong, who looked distraught, has appealed to the GNFS to do thoroughly investigations and pinpoint the source of the fire.
According to the NPP guru, he was shocked when he got information that his house was burning, but he managed to call fore fighters to help.
Mr. Frimpong said the fire fighters did their best to quench the blaze, but it was too late as the fire had already caused massive destruction.
Speaking on Wontumi Radio, he said he would wait patiently for the fire fighters to complete their investigations to know what started the fire.
