THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP), on Sunday, April 16, 2023, successfully vetted the eight aspirants for the vacant Kumawu MP seat.
They are Lawyer Edward Osei, former CEO Ghana ports and harbour Authority, Ama Serwaa and Osei-Hweree Kwame Bempah, a Journalist.
The others are DR Philip Bannor, Medical Doctor, Hon. Yaw Baah, former member of parliament for Kumawu and Ernest Anim.
Also in the race are Kwame Appiah kubi and Dr Aboagye Dacosta, a national officer of the party, who demanded anonymity, said.
The NPP, he said, would on Monday April 17, 2023, announce aspirants have been given the green light by the vetting committee to take part in the polls.
The Kumawu NPP MP seat became vacant following the death of Philip Atta Basoa.
The party would on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, received petitions if any, followed by appeals later on the same day (Tuesday).
Balloting would be done on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, followed by Notice of Polls on Thursday, April 20 and the NPP primaries on Sunday, April 23, 2023
