THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been admonished to start early campaign, ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
This strategy, according to one of the proponents, would make it easier for President Nana Addo Dankwa and the NPP to retain political power in 2020.
Edmund Kyei, the NPP First Vice Chairman for Asokwa Constituency, who mooted the idea, said “early campaign is the best”.
According to him, the government has chalked numerous successes within two years and would thus need ‘enough time’ to broadcast them across the country.
“President Nana Akufo-Addo’s achievements in only two years are unbelievable and we need to start spreading them to help us win more votes.
“We need to campaign early because we have a positive message to share with the voters. This early campaign method will make victory easier for us”.
Kyei was speaking with THE PUBLISHER during an exclusive interview in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, on the sidelines of the ‘Help Nana Rule Ghana’ awards ceremony, which took place at the Golden Tulip Kumasi City, recently.
On the day, several NPP gurus were honoured with citations and certificates for their various contributions in the party.
Edmund Kyei, who was among the award winners, reiterated the need for NPP to start campaigning early so that the party can increase its votes in 2020.
