NPP Votes Tomorrow
THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region will tomorrow (Saturday) go to the polls to elect its constituency executives across the region to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling political party, Sam Pyne, has stated that all is set for party’s internal elections in all the 47 constituencies in the region, adding that the polls would start 8am.
Electoral Commission
Sam Pyne further announced that the Electoral Commission (EC) had been informed of the event and would discharge their staff to visit the constituencies to supervise the polls.
According to him, the party leaders want the upcoming party elections to be held in a free and fair atmosphere, and therefore called on members to cooperate with the EC for a peaceful election.
Warns Bad Boys
The secretary, in a chat with the paper, sternly cautioned party members not to engage in any unruly acts that have the possibility of causing chaos and disrupting the elections.
He said the party has invited the Ashanti Regional Police Command to dispatch policemen to provide tight security at all the election venues in the region to avert chaos.
He warned that the police would arrest any party member that would try to cause commotion and disrupt the electoral process.
Meanwhile, the various aspirants in the constituencies have started painting the region with their campaign posters, with the Manhyia South Constituency leading in the ‘posters war’.
