NUGS FIGHTS FOR DEAF SCHOOL
VIDA OPOKU Agyeman, the Women’s Commissioner of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), has wowed to solicit for support to improve conditions at the School of the Deaf at Agona-Jamasi.
There is congestion at the girls’ dormitory of the school and the students don’t have access to potable drinking water, among other mountainous challenges confronting the school.
These came to light when NUGS, led by Vida Opoku Agyeman, organized a mega party for the over 600 students in the school recently.
Speaking to THE PUBLISHER, Vida said she and her executives were not happy with the numerous challenges that the school is facing.
“I am sad because I am not impressed with the facilities that they have here. The problems facing the school of the Deaf at Agona-Jamasi are numerous and it will impede academic work here.
“Right from today, I will use my position as NUGS National Women’s Commissioner to solicit for support for this school. My immediate agenda is to help to solve the water problem”, she said.
She said she would be visiting the offices of some corporate organizations and other stakeholders to assist her solve the problems in the school.
On her part, Vida Aidoo, Headmistress of the school, thanked the NUGS executives for always coming to the aid of the school.
