Renowned actor, John Dumelo, has denied rumours claiming he shares close ties with the policeman who attacked a nursing mother at the Midlands Savings and Loans Bank.
According to him, he only posed for a picture with the attacker, Fredrick Amanor, who showed up as his fan some months ago.
Dumelo has been criticised heavily by some Ghanaians after chancing on a picture he took with the attacker.
The picture started circulating on social media minutes after the viral video which captured an armed police officer, who was on guard duty, assaulting a woman holding a baby.
This led to self styled Evangelist Addai accusing both the actor and the attacker of being ‘illumnati’.
In a response to a fan on social media, the actor who is unhappy about the situation explained that he is a friend to all and that does not mean he will support a man beating any lady no matter the problem.
“Bro, this picture must have been taken ages ago. But the policeman is a coward for doing what he did. Under no circumstance should he have physically abused that woman. I’m a friend to everyone and hence I do take pictures when asked. It’s unfortunate the assault incident happened but I believe the Police service will deal accordingly with the policeman,” he said.
He further stated that “Men who beat women are cowards let alone a man assigned to protect us. God bless Ghana.”
