Pupils of Breman Nwomaso Methodist Junior High School (JHS) in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa district of the Central Region, are frightful their dilapidated muddy classroom block could collapse on them anytime.
In an interview with Accra News’ Samuel Gyasi, the pupils said they find it difficult concentrating on lessons whenever it rains since their classrooms get flooded.
On sunny days, they get scorched by the heat.
They said the cracks in the school building are harbingers of an impending collapse, an eventuality that gives them the frights all the time.
They also say the cracked floors have become lairs for reptiles.
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman, Samuel Adjei, said the students are forced to run home or seek shelter elsewhere anytime it rains.
He, therefore, appealed to the authorities to pull down the structure and build a new one in its place.
