The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has assured the public that “due processes will be followed in the investigation” of corruption allegations leveled against the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi.
The CID said in a statement that it received a complaint from President Nana Akufo-Addo that “Mr Nyantakyi has used the President’s name and office fraudulently”.
The statement dated Wednesday, 23 May and signed by Director of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman, said Mr Nyantakyi is out of the country and expected to return today to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The police further entreated the public to submit any relevant information to the CID.
