Obinim Grabs Ladies Panties, Angry Pastors Fight Him

BISHOP DANIEL OBINIM, intriguing Christian leader with an estimated 100,000 followers across Ghana has asked his congregants to bring him their used underpants including G-strings, bikinis, lingerie, braziers of all sizes and boxer shorts for a spiritual ritual in his church.

“Listen to this vision God has shown to me to tell you. If you are a female and you are coming to church, come along with that thing wear in your underparts. Bring two; one old and used brazier and one old and used pantie. Bring old ones, not new ones. Listen to the vision very well. This is what God told me to tell you. Ladies should bring me one old pantie and one old brazier. Put them in rubber bag and bring them to me. I would burn them”, Bishop Obinim, leader of the International God’s Way Church told his congregation.

Bishop Obinim Continued: “The men too should bring me their boxer shorts. One boxer short and one singlet. You can add those of your spouses and children. God has asked you to bring them to me so we pray over them and burn them.

“God told me that, ‘my son Obinim that I have made you an angel, when you burn the used panties and braziers, I would use them to remove bad things from my people. Bad things including curses, poverty, sickness and disappointments. God has told me he would remove all the bad things from your life.’ God is even talking to me as I a here speaking to you. Yes. God is talking to me right now. Wherever you are, run and bring me the panties to burn. Thus, says the Lord.”

Several thousands of his Christian congregation obeyed the ‘spiritual instruction from God’ and turned up at the next service with all manner of under pants which he gathered into a giant heap and set ablaze while the owners prayed fervently   to God for deliverance from all manner of ills and bad omen.

OTHER PASTORS VEX

A video of what Obinim described as a spiritual exercise has gone viral, insisting condemnation from several other Christian leaders outside his church, may of whom have described his act as strange and unbiblical.

Bishop Osei Bonsu of the Catholic Bishops Conference, without mincing words, stated that the alleged direction given by Bishop Obinim amounts to “madness”.

Speaking on Adom FM, Bishop Osei Bonsu said God will never save mankind from their troubles through the burning of their used panties, boxer shorts and braziers.

“It is not God who revealed this to him as he claimed”, he pointed out, and warned Christians to be careful of fake men of God in these last days.

Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong of the Christian Council of Ghana also sternly warned Christians to be careful about prophesies from pastors in these last days.

According to Dr. Opuni Frimpong, religion is an avenue which can be used to deceive and cheat people; and stressed the need for Christians to be alert at all times.

OBINIM NOT BOTHERED

Bishop Daniel Obinim however remains unperturbed by the mass condemnation from his fellow clergy fraternity.

This is not the first time Bishop Obinim is coming under verbal condemnation for his style of Christian leadership and church service.

But he has always maintained that his critics are prejudiced in their thinking because they lack an understanding of spiritual matters.

The Bishop has often claimed he is an “Angel” and that he sometimes gets physical visitation from Jesus Christ.

Despite the never-ending controversy, Bishop Obinim’s International God’s Way Church, continues to flourish and grow in numbers.

He is married to popular gospel musician, Florence Obinim.
