FROM ALL indications, Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka ‘Wontumi’s’ days as the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, has been numbered.
Credible reports emerging indicated that Wontumi has lost favour with the NPP delegates, who have now turned their love to Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, to properly lead the party.
Odeneho, who is the current NPP Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, has made his intentions to contest for the regional chairman position clear.
Interestingly, colossal number of NPP delegates from all the 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region have so far declared their unflinching support for Odeneho.
The massive support that Odeneho is receiving from the party, especially came to light during the 2021 edition of the Ashanti Regional NPP Delegates Conference.
Hundreds of enthusiastic looking NPP delegates were seen carrying Odeneho on their shoulders through the principal streets of Ejisu all the way to the programme venue.
The delegates were singing the “One Man No Chop” campaign slogan of Odeneho, which is an assurance to the delegates that they would not used and dumped like now.
Odeneho’s presence at the event grounds temporarily halted every activity at the place as the delegates, who were already seated, raced to welcome him to the event.
Some of the delegates were heard complaining severely that the current leadership of the party has failed to deliver so the NPP critically needed a saviour ahead of 2024.
According to them, Odeneho, who is a respected and loyal member of the NPP, is the suitable person to bring the renaissance into the party to make victory 2024 a reality.
