The outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, said the country is in critical need presently and it would be the best time for companies to provide some form of succor
According to him, the Covid-19 virus, which has been claiming human lives across the globe, is rapidly crippling business activities in the country.
He predicted that very soon a sizeable number of the Ghanaian population would face economic hardships and so they need a helping hand.
Without mincing words, Odeneho stated that the various companies and organizations should take this opportunity to show love to the vulnerable.
“These companies and organizations have been working in this country for so many years in a peaceful atmosphere and made a lot of profit in the process.
“This is a time that the country and its people are virtually on their knees as the Covid-19 virus continues to collapse businesses and creates hardship.
“I am therefore appealing to the companies and organizations to come to the rescue of the people, especially those that are vulnerable”, he said.
Odeneho said the companies and organizations would gain more love and support from the citizenry if they decide to share their profit with the vulnerable.
He also lauded President Nana Akufo-Addo for the pragmatic policies that he had taken so far to protect Ghanaians from the deadly virus.
Odeneho, however, stated that the President cannot single-handedly fight the deadly virus, reiterating his call on organizations and companies to help.
The NPP chairman also admonished the citizenry to strictly adhere to all the directives from government to stay safe from the virus, notably social distancing.
