Odike 2020 Posters Pop Up

Presidential campaign posters of businessman cum politician, Akwasi Addai aka ‘Odike’ have been sighted in town one full year ahead of  the next general elections.

The posters bear the inscription, “Akwasi Addai Odike for President” on the ticket of the United Progressive Party (UPP) for 2020.

It also said “Akwasi Addai  Odike is the viable alternative for Ghanaians”. The posters have the red, white and blue colours of the UPP.

The posters have since gone viral on social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and others, generating debate in the process.

ODIKE SACKED?

Interestingly, Odike’s posters for president have come at a time that the UPP executives have come out boldly to state that he (Odike) has been expelled from the party.

The UPP executives accused Odike of being an autocratic and selfish leader, who only seeks the welfare of himself and his family, hence their decision to sack him.

Odike, who seemed not to be bothered by speculations of his sack, has rather replied his critics with his posters for the 2020 presidential polls on UPP ticket.

Public Debate

Meanwhile, some of the people that have seen the posters on social media said it was too early for Odike to come out with his posters for president, a year to the polls.

Some of the comments monitored by THE NEW PUBLISHER pointed to the fact that Odike seemed to be in a hurry to contest in the 2020 elections.

They even wondered whether the timing of Odike’s posters  for president would not put Odike into trouble as the Electoral Commission has not sanctioned for campaign to start.
