Odike Arrested
AKWASI ADDAI aka ‘Odike’, an outspoken politician and founder of the United Progressive Party (UPP), has been arrested over a threat charge.
Kenneth Asamoah, the Acting Chairman of the UPP, accused Odike of threatening him in Accra.
The police therefore apprehended the party founder for questioning and he was granted bail afterwards.
Odike, who personally confirmed the report, said Kenneth Asamoah accused him of threatening him and called for his arrest.
“The police invited me and granted me bail after Kenneth Asamoah had accused me of threatening him”, he said on Nhyira FM.
The UPP founder has however denied threatening Kennedy Asamoah, and said he would eventually be exonerated.
Odike said he has also reported Kenneth Asamoah to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Kumasi in another case.
“I have reported him for impersonation at the police CID in Kumasi and the case is still ongoing”, the outspoken politician said.
Meanwhile, Kenneth Asamoah, speaking on the same network, said Odike has been suspended from the UPP for some time now.
He alleged that Odike had illegally amassed the party’s properties, including cars and other properties, and that led to his suspension.
