ODIKE DEFLATES UPP COUP
BUSINESSMAN CUM politician, Akwasi Addai aka ‘Odike,’ has debunked speculations that he had been sacked from the United Progressive Party (UPP).
According to him, the formation of the UPP was his sole idea and that he remains the owner and leader of the party until his death.
He said anybody that would try to get rid of him from the UPP is either ignorant or just creating unnecessary tension in the party.
“I am the founder, leader and life-time chairman of the UPP and nobody can deny me that privilege so far as I am alive”, he emphasized.
In an interview with THE PUBLISHER, Odike said it was unfortunate that some executives of the party recently attempted to oust him.
“Ohemaa Serwaa Nyarko, the UPP Women Organizer and Adjei Ackon, the UPP Treasurer, were part of the people that recently called for my sack.
“I will entreat them to exercise patience and return to the UPP because I am in the process of working to solve their quandaries”, he pleaded.
According to him, allegations leveled against him, to the effect that he had imposed his son, Francis Addai, as the general Secretary, is palpably false.
He said his son had been an integral member of the UPP since day one, explaining “he is only acting as the general secretary now after the one who occupied position had resigned.
