Okay FM’s Halifax Ansah-Addo on Friday won the Radio Personality Award at the third edition of the Youth Excellence Awards held in Accra.
The ever-fast-rising host of Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’ was presented with a plaque and a Certificate.
Mr. Ansah-Addo also Editor-In-Chief of THE NEW PUBLISHER Newspaper, fend-off stiff competition from industry giants like Giovani Caleb from Media General, Elvis Crystal from Asaase Broadcasting Company, Kojo Yankson from the Multimedia Group Limited, Oheneba Nana Asiedu from Wontomi Media Company, Francis Abban from the EIB Network, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani from the Angel Broadcasting Company and Joseph K Asante to emerge winner of the much-coveted award
The colorful event which was held at the Silver Star Tower was attended by several media personalities, radio and television industry stakeholders and youth change-makers making giant strides in their respective sectors as well as winners from previous editions.
The awards provides a platform to recognize individuals and brands that play a significant role in the development of youth sector while recognizing the key functions within the sector that promote growth and sustainability.
The Third Edition rewarded youth that played a defining role in moving their skills and efforts forward and have demonstrated achievement across a wide variety of domains including sustainability, operational excellence, innovation and others.
According to the organizers, the Radio Personality Award was conferred on Mr. Ansah-Addo in recognition of his outstanding contribution to leadership, entrepreneurship, and professionalism in his journalism work among other innovations.
Dedication
In his acceptance speech, Halifax dedicated the award to the Administrative and Finance Manager of the Despite Media Group, Fadda Dickson.
He described him as a highly motivated media personality with experience in media marketing strategy that has shaped and grown his radio brand over the years.
According to him, Fadda Dickson dedicated time for him when he had no experience in radio presentation but he has become perfect along the process.
“I dedicate this award to Fadda Dickson, the man who put me on radio at a time I had zero experience in hosting a show. That was a big risk he took for me and I am grateful to him” he said.
About Halifax
Halifax Ansah-Addo is the host of Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’ from 10AM to 12 noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Prior to being on radio, he has been a journalist for several years leaving indelible foot prints on the profession.
Mr. Ansah-Addo has had stints with Harruna Attah’s now defunct Accra Daily Mail, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako’s New Crusading Guide and the Daily Guide newspapers.
As though that was not enough, the affable Ansah-Addo rose through the ranks of the journalism profession to become the Editor of News One Newspaper Published by Western Publication Group.
The New Publisher Editor-In-Chief is not new to events and Talent Management.
He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Halifax Entertainment – an Events and Talent Management Firm and also works as a Private Media Consultant to a number of brands and companies.
Mr. Ansah-Addo before being a radio show host was known as an objective critic of the showbiz industry in the country, setting himself apart as a panelist on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review Show on Thursdays and Saturdays.
