One does not need marriage to make it in life – Yvonne Okoro
Popular Movie Actress Yvonne Okoro has advised young people to develop other interests in their lives in search of happiness than focusing too much on getting married.
According to her, it is important for people to recognize that one can be single and yet very happy in life.
”I keep stressing on the fact that, dreams can be fulfill and accomplished even when single. One don’t necessarily have to be married to make it. Marriage is good.
However, while that is waiting to occur, young people can have interests and achieve a lot of things” she told Abeiku Santana on the ATUU Show which was aired on UTV over the weekend.
She said it is important for people to recognize that one can be single and yet very happy in life adding that, marriage is a basic human right to be exercised freely and not forced into it.
The Ghanaian cum Nigerian actress further urged up and coming actors and actresses not to take acting as a full-time job but rather get education and secure well-paying jobs because acting does not pay in Ghana nowadays.
According to her, the Ghanaian movie industry is gradually dying so people who put all their hopes to make a career out of only acting could be stressing themselves due to lack of money.
She indicated that unlike Nigeria where there are several movie producers, cinemas, and a larger population, Ghana has none of these and that has been the bane of the industry.
“The movie industry now does not have enough producers and finance. It’s all because there’s no money in the industry lately. The actors and actresses have now turned into producers, which shouldn’t be so”. she indicated.
