The President, Nana Akufo-Addo announced a partial easing of restrictions on public gatherings and religious activities imposed to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
By this, churches, mosques, and schools have been asked to commence activities, but with particular requirements.
The decision to ease the restrictions comes amidst a huge increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country.
In as much as a lot of churches are elated about this development and are making preparations towards their first services coming Sunday, Prophet Kumchacha says the one hour time restriction for church activities not possible.
Speaking on the ‘Best Entertainment Show’ on Okay FM yesterday(Friday, June 5, 2020), the Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries said he has decided to continue having church services through the medium of radio and television stations despite the President’s directive.
”Indeed we are not in normal times, we should relax and wait for better times ahead. The one hour for church not enough, we can’t rush in worshipping God. You can’t use one hour to worship God and feel comfortable, it cannot be possible. It’s not force, I cannot do something which will bring issues on me. One hour for Church activities will bring problems.” he said.
According to him, the decision by the government to open churches had both positive and negative implications.
”Sunday, I won’t do service. No pastor can use one hour for church service. Let’s say within the one hour, open prayers will take like 10 minutes, Afterwards then teaching comes like 10 to 15 minutes. Worship for like 10 minutes. Praises for like 10 minutes. 15 minutes left, testimonies hasn’t come, announcement and many more. For me Kumchacha, I can use like one hour to preach. This will be very difficult.” he added.
