The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly (ONMA) has ended a three day massive clean exercise in the Municipality.
The event saw over 184 people comprising staff and non-staff of the Assembly taking part in the exercise which ended yesterday.
The exercise was part of governments’ compressive plan toward promotion cleanliness in all municipalities across the country even as some regions of the country are observing partial lockdown in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The clean-up exercise saw major roads in the municipality like the George Walker Bush Highway (N1), Apenkwa, Achimota, Neoplan station, Lapaz, Abeka among other areas.
ONMA’s task force collected refuse at markets, homes and lorry stations, desilted gutters and offered residents the free opportunity to dispose their domestic refuse as well.
Refuse bins were also put at the major streets to encourage residents to dispose their rubbish.
Aside the ONMA’s task force other persons who took part in the exercise were officers from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and the COVID-19 Team at the Assembly.
