Opoku Nti Calls For Spiritual Support For Kotoko
THE RED army supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been urged to support the club in spirit to help the team beat archrivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.
Former Kotoko CEO, Samuel Opoku Nti, who made the call, said the spiritual and physical support of the fans is crucial for the team to win their next game as the country’s two most glamorous clubs lock horns this Sunday to determine the winner of this year’s FA Cup Tournament.
The winner of the cagey encounter would automatically book a place in the Africa Confederations Cup so both Kotoko and Hearts would go for the kill.
Opoku Nti said the encounter would be evenly contested as both Kotoko and Hearts are in good shape. He, however, stressed that with determination Kotoko is likely to carry the day.
Nti, aka ‘Lord Zico’, was once a talented footballer and captained both Kotoko and the senior national team, the Black Stars in the 1980s.
He entered into football management after he drew the curtains down on his career and he had not disappointed in that area, so far.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, appointed him as Kotoko CEO three seasons ago and he led the club to win its first Ghana double (league and FA Cup).
‘Lord Zico’ is now serving on the newly created Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) Youth and Sports Development Board.
