Otumfuo back home

THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, returned to Kumasi Airport direct from London on Saturday.

The Asante King was in London to attend the official coronation of King Charles III, on May 6, 2023.

He was accompanied back home on Saturday afternoon by his wife, Lady Julia, in chartered flight.

A sea of people, including traditional leaders and people from all walks of life crowded the airport.

At the airport to welcome him included the Asante Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu and some chiefs.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah and Kumasi Mayor, Sam Pyne, were also present.

There was spontaneous shout of joy at the airport when the Asantehene disembarked from the plane.

Dressed in a beauty suit with shoe to match, the Asante Monarch shook hands with some dignitaries.

Otumfuo was seen beaming even as he waved back to the crowd at the airport, who chanted his name.

Later on, the Asante King’s convoy also caused massive vehicle traffic on the streets of Kumasi.

People had lined up the streets just to catch a glimpse of the Asantehene and his wife, Lady Julia.
