Otumfuo backs Ghana Beyond Aid Policy
THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has passionately appealed to developed countries that are friends of Ghana to support the government’s ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ policy.
He observed that the policy has the tendency of helping to make Ghana very transformed and self-reliant, and, therefore urged the citizenry to endeavour to assist the government to succeed with its implementation.
The Asantehene praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government for being bold to dare change the status quo by introducing a policy that would change Ghana’s destiny forever.
According to him, he and Asanteman had analyzed the ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ policy and realized that it had all that it takes to make the country flourish.
“It is in this vein that we have welcomed the vision of the president for Ghana Beyond Aid”, he said.
He added: “It is not a vision for the faint-hearted, it is bold. It is brave. But it is a vision that deserves support, not only from Ghanaians but from all her friends across the world”.
The Asantehene was speaking during the ‘World Meets Ghana Investors’ Forum and Executive Dinner Ball’, which were held at the Manhyia Palace and the Golden Tulip Hotel, respectively.
The events were organized by the E ON 3 Group, a Ghanaian company, which is owned by Mr. Richard Ofori-Atta, with active support from the Manhyia Palace, in Kumasi, the seat of the Asantehene.
Prof. Dr. Ambassador Tal Edgars, Group Executive Chairman GBSH Consult Group Worldwide, charged Ghanaians to shun corruption and contribute their quota to develop the country.
He said Ghana has all it takes to become a well-developed state within the next 20 years, adding that the state should formulate policies to attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDI).
