Otumfuo Blesses Dogboe At Manhyia
THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has showered blessings on Isaac Dogboe to help the young pugilist go places in his glittering boxing career.
This was when the 23-year-old newly-crowned WBO Interim Super Bantamweight Champion, visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Sunday.
Significantly, the visit coincided with the first Akwasidae of the year, which was marked with a mammoth gathering of chiefs and people of Ashanti.
Dogboe and his managers were at the palace, ostensibly, to seek Otumfuo’s blessings so his amazing career would continue to blossom.
The Ghanaian boxer used the occasion to present the WBO Interim Super Bantamweight title he won from Cesar Juarez of Mexico, to Otumfuo.
There was spontaneous applause from the huge gathering, which included powerful Asante chiefs, when Dogboe presented the title to the Ashanti King.
The Asante monarch, who was clad in rich ‘Kente’ cloth with gold ornaments to march, then blessed Dogboe to continue to shine in his career.
The chiefs present also admonished Dogboe to continue to be disciplined and train hard so that he could become a world champion in the near future.
