Otumfuo Joins Muslims Today
Worshippers at the Central Mosque in Kumasi will today receive an august visitor in the person of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The King would be visiting the mosque to give thanks to Allah for His blessings, guidance and protection, which made the late Asantehemaa’s funeral peaceful.
The grand funeral rites of Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, the late Asante queen, started on December 1, 2017.
Prominent people from across the globe, including the presidents of Ghana and Togo and ministers of state, visited the Manhyia Palace, venue of the grand funeral rites.
Otumfuo’s visit to the mosque would therefore offer him the opportunity to offer thanks to Allah for making it possible for the historic funeral to end successfully.
The Asante King would be accompanied by scores of paramount chiefs from Asanteman and elders from the Manhyia Palace.
Earlier on Sunday, the Ashanti king stormed the St. Cyprians Anglican Church in Kumasi for a similar thanksgiving service.
