The life patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has made available GH₵600,000 to the club’s recently-constituted Interim Management Committee to ramp up preparations ahead of the 2023/2024 betPawa Ghana Premier League campaign.
The cash injection by the Asantehene follows the appointment of the Kontomponiaferehene Nana Apinkra Awusi-Awua a Charted Accountant, head coach, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, former Black Stars boss, James Kwesi Appiah and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi to the committee tasked with ensuring the club’s readiness for the upcoming season.
The setting up of the committee follows the dissolution of the club’s Board in the wake of an underwhelming season for the Porcupine Warriors.
Building a competitive squad ahead of the 2023/2024 Premier League Campaign will be the priority of the committee, after Kotoko endured a difficult campaign last season in which they failed defend their 2021/2022 Premier League title.
