Otumfuo Storms World Bank

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called on world leaders to promote education in their various countries as a means of enhancing quality human resource production in the world.

According to him, quality human resource is all that is needed to help the world overcome pressing challenges such as poverty and diseases, especially in the developing world.

He, in this regard, appealed to all world leaders and other major stakeholders, such as the World Bank, to dedicate more of their time, energy and resources to help educate and train the youth.

The Asante Monarch made the passionate call when he held fruitful talks with the leadership of the World Bank in the United States, recently.

According to him, since science and mathematics are some of the key learning subjects that have the potential of helping mankind to defeat the pressing challenges facing mankind, it is imperative that greater attention is paid to the two subjects.

The Asantehene also said even though the bank had in the past helped some countries to overcome their pressing challenges and become better today, it can still do better in that regard.

Otumfuo, whose sterling leadership has contributed to the immense development of Asanteman, said he achieved that feat due to planning and also, the combination of modernity and culture.

The Asantehene is also expected to address the United Nations General Assembly on September 13, 2019.
