Patrons went home with great memories at the 20th Anniversary of Obrafour maiden album dubbed “Pae Mu Ka” last Saturday.
The night, witnessed a tall list of contemporary and indigenous artist billed to thrill patrons at the Pae Mu Ka concert held at the Accra International Conference Centre [AICC].
Known to have commercialised the genre, Obrafour with the help of other musicians took an impressive array of and proved to many why he is one of the cornerstones of the hiplife music genre in Ghana.
The release of ‘Pae Mu Ka’ album, according to many, laid the foundation for what has now become a source of livelihood for many in the music industry today.
For that, Ghana’s biggest music stars, and celebrities, in general, gathered under one roof to celebrate a living legend – Obrafour.
Almost everyone who mattered in the showbiz industry was in attendance from the likes of Yvonne Nelson, Naa Ashorkor, Shatta Wale, Samini, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, KOD, Abeiku Santana, E.L, Reggie Rockstone, Tic Tac (now TiC), Kofi B, CY Lover, Bisa Kdei, R2Bees, Stephen Appiah, DKB, DJ Black, Nana Ama McBrown, Moesha Boduong, Kalybos, Prince David Osei, Coded, Big Ben, Edem, Kwaw Kese, Joey B, Ras Kuuku, Akwaboah Jnr among others.
Samini, midway through his performance, admitted that “We are here to celebrate a legend. I don’t even have the words to describe what people like Obrafour mean to people like us.
“Obrafour inspired people like me and a whole lot of Ghanaian artistes and we are on here today to make sure we make the world know what people like Obrafour did…”
Obrafour on the night performed songs on his maiden album [Pae Mu Ka] with artistes featured on the album. Member of TH4Kwagez popularly known as Fiifi Selah performed with obrafour on the popular hit banger Asem Bebe.
The Pae Mu Ka @ 20-anniversary concert was held to celebrate Obrafour’s journey in the music industry since he came out with his life-changing Pae Mu Ka album in 1999.
Some of the artistes who performed on the night include; Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Ofori Amponsah, Kofi B, Lilwin, Medikal, M.anifest, Bisa Kdei, Ras Kuuku, EL, Wendy Shay, Strongman, Edem, TiC, Efya and King Promise.
