Ghanaian Football firm, Pangelz Consult, has held a successful scouting tournament at the Tuba Astro Turf in Accra in partnership with Slovakian top flight side MSK Zilina and Doma Flex Limited.
Four teams including Africa Youth FC and Kengid FC competed in the tournament that was witnessed by licensed FIFA agent Pamela Ansah-Asamoah, Chairman of Football in the Accra West District, Farouk Zakari, Managing Director of Doma Flex, Paa Kwesi Ansah-Asamoah and MSK Zilina scout Michal Biras.
Speaking to the media after the event, the dignitaries spoke glowingly about the immense talent they witnessed and what such programs means to the development of football in Ghana.
“Generally they (the players) are doing well…some of them have not played on the turf before so I am sure eventually they will get used to it. The scout is impressed with what he has seen” Pamela Ansah-Asamoah stated.
For Zilina scout Biras, the players picked at the tournament, will have their development tracked with a trial move to Slovakia on the cards.
MSK Zilina Scout Michal Biras “I saw very interesting players. Of course, we picked some players that we will follow in the future and maybe we will take them to Slovakia for a trial” Biras said and added about six players stood out in the tournament.
Accra West District Chairman Zakari highlighted the impact of such programs on Ghana football saying,
“These are things that we are looking for Ghana football these are what we’re looking for because with this we can go far. This is what we are looking for mother Ghana and I know we will go far.”
Zilina ranks first in the 12 team Slovakian league standings at the time of writing and has Ghanaians Henry Addo and Samuel Gidi on its roster.
