Often times, as believers, we give up too quickly on the Word of God. In Luke chapter 8, we are told the parable of the sower. Verse 9 of the chapter says: “And his disciples asked him, saying, what might this parable be? (KJV). In other words, explain this parable to us. In verse 11, Jesus responded: “Now the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God…” (KJV).
The Word of God is a seed that must produce when planted. “Those by the wayside are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience” (Luke 8:12-15 KJV).
If they were able to bring forth fruit with patience, that shows that there were opportunities to be impatient.
Beloved, no matter what, you should not for any reason give up on the Word. Be patient with the Word because it will come to pass. The farmer knows that some seeds will come up in few months and he knows that some will take about six months.
So, he is patient with all of them. The book of Galatians 6:9 says: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” So, while the waiting season lasts, keep on praising, keep on worshipping. Be fervent, knowing that in the end you will testify.
