GHANAIANS HAVE been admonished to patronize made in Ghana goods to help save the virtually collapsed Ghana Cedi currency from falling further.
Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), who contested and narrowly lost the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairmanship race recently, gave the advice.
According to him, the over-reliance on foreign goods at the detriment of locally made products, was one of the main reasons that the Ghana Cedi was on its knees now.
“Let’s all focus on made in Ghana goods if we are really determined to fight the cedi depreciation war”, COKA, who is an ex-Affigya Kwabre South NPP Chairman, said.
According to him, if the people begin to buy made in Ghana products, definitely the now weakened Ghana Cedi would regain strength and bounce back stronger soon.
Speaking with THE NEW PUBLISHER in Kumasi, the famous politician also observed that trading in foreign currencies in the country was also hurting the Cedi.
“We all have a role to play as far as the cedi depreciation is concerned. Our Businessmen and women should stop trading or buying in Dollars in our country”, he said.
COKA stated that collective efforts from all-and-sundry was greatly needed to be able to save the Ghana Cedi, saying that nobody should be a spectator henceforth.
