Pay Instrumentalist for their services – Empress Gifty urges Church leaders
Empress Gifty, formerly known as Gifty Osei has voiced her dislike for the practice where churches and other organisations refuses to appreciate the hard work of Instrumentalists.
According to her, that practice has to stop because the work of playing of instruments in the church could be someone’s main job and deserved to be a paid one as such.
”Instrumentalists are not ban boys, that is the gift God has given them. Some have wives, children, parents, among other duties they perform, they rent. There are some Instrumentalists who still sleeps at the church auditorium whiles bigger fundraising are still happening.
”Pastor’s appreciation are done, same for pastor’s wife, in some instances, founder’s day are all done neglecting instrumentalists who play vital role in the church development.” she told Halifax Ansah-Addo on the Best Entertainment Show.
Empress Gifty said it was about time church leaders saw the work of Instrumentalists as a business and not just helping the church praise God.
”The lifestyle our Instrumentalist are facing in this country is very depressing. We should respect the Instrumentalists, they should be paid. It’s work they are doing. Some Pastors get paid out of their work, why ain’t they doing same for the Instrumentalist, they deserve better living condition.
”Their sort of duty in the Church is one of the difficult ever. They deserve motivation to be able to deliver on their duties. I always say this that, if you are a musician, don’t joke with your Instrumentalist, make them happy” she added.
Moving on to other matters, Empress Gifty, who is promoting her latest single she calls – ‘Jesus Over Do’, under her imprint, Empress Production described her life as a motivation.
