People love to speak bad about Jordan but they know he is good – Dede Ayew

Black Stars Captain, André Dede Ayew has said his kid brother, Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew is a great and experienced team player but for whatever reasons, a section of the public love to criticize him although they know his skills are not in doubt.

“It’s not the first time (that Jordan has played well)… I think he’s just someone that people just want to speak bad about but they in their hearts know the kind of quality that he is…”, Dede told journalists after the Black Star’s 3-2 win against South Korea on Monday.

He was responding to a question journalists had asked him about his opinion on the praise Ghanaians were showering on Jordan after his classic performance in the match against the South Koreans.

Dede explained that it is not the first time his brother Jordan was playing well for the Black Stars and added that for a player to play in the international league for six years and counting, that player certainly is not a push over.

The criticisms against Jordan rose after the Black Star’s loss to Portugal last week. Many opined that it was his ‘loose touch’ of the ball that led to Portugal’s third goal scored by Rafael Leao.

The Black Stars Captain, in his brief interview with journalists last Monday, did not sound worried about the frequent public criticisms on Jordan’s play as he said the very persons badmouthing the player know very well in their hearts the caliber of player he is.

Jordan Ayew received a spontaneous standing ovation from Ghanaian fans at the Education City Stadium in Qatar when he was pulled out of the game by the coach.

Many Ghanaians also took to social media to shower praises on him and offer apologies for previous negative comments they had passed about him.

Jordan, during Monday’s match, put in some brilliant crosses one of which resulted in Ghana’s second goal scored against the South Koreans by Mohammed Kudus.

His play contributed chiefly in the opening goal scored by Salisu Mohammed and he had a hand in the build-up to Kudus’ second goal.

Meanwhile, Citinews.com has quoted Jordan to have touted the importance of having experienced players on the pitch in the team’s 3-2 win over South Korea.

“In every job and in everything you do in this world, experience is key and obviously we great young talents and great players as well…in the two games we showed why we are important to the team and we will keep on pushing and keep on speaking to the young ones to come around with us to buy into our ideas” the site quoted him to have stated.

Ghana heads into the final Group H against Uruguay on Friday, December 2 at 3:00 p.m. local time.

Ghanaians across the world continue to rally support for the Black Stars ahead of Friday’s match.

Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is no exception as he took to his Facebook page to wish the national team well.

“Congratulations to our gallant Black Stars! The country appreciates your efforts and hard work in today’s game. You chased and caught your dreams. Go for qualification in our last group game against Uruguay on Friday. You can do it”, Dr. Bawumia noted.
