Petrol Tanker Kills Man

A VULCANIZER has been killed and nine other people have suffered life threatening injuries after a speeding petrol tanker ran over them on the Kumasi – Obuasi road.

The gory accident occurred at Anwia Nkwanta on the main Kumasi to Obuasi road, last week, the paper has been informed.

The break of the petrol tanker vehicle, which was said to be traveling at top speed, failed and this resulted in the fatal crash.

The accident happened around 4pm and it also led to the destruction of several shops in the area, which were stuffed with different types of goods.

The body of the vulcanizer had since been deposited at the morgue awaiting autopsy. The injured people are also responding to treatment.

Eye witnesses said the petrol tanker was from the Manso Nkwanta direction, running at top speed, that fateful day.

Suddenly, the petrol tanker’s break developed a fault so several attempts by the driver to stop the vehicle, could not materialize.

They said the petrol tanker ran over the vulcanizer, who was sitting by roadside, killing him instantly to the horror of people around.

According to them, the petrol tanker then ran further to cause severe injuries to nine other people and also destroyed several shops.
