Ms Patience Osafo, the woman who was assaulted by a police officer not long ago at the Midland Savings and Loans Company, Shiashie banking hall branch has finally received her house as promised by the company last week.
Through Lawyer Samson Lardi Ayenini who took the case upon himself to secure justice for the ‘poor woman’ revealed on NEWSFILE last saturday of the heavy compensation and that, the company will deliver the said house days ahead to the Assaulted Woman.
Mr Ayenini revealed this on Joy FM’s news analysis programme which his host on Saturdays.
“Why am I not allowed to agree with the infamous interdicted woman beater police officer’s claim to a criminal charge of assault, is it because I need the woman to seek justices.”
“Well to avoid a civil suit against Midland Savings, and in compensation for the punches, trauma and embarrassment we just closed a rather generous deal that removes her from the kiosk to owning a brand new house and from the streets, hawking toffee to a woman now with multiple bank accounts.” – he said.
The intervention by Midland, which has been described by lawyer of the 36-year-old lady as “generous”, as it is to avoid a civil suit against the financial institution for the punches, trauma and embarrassment she suffered following the assault she went through at the hands of Lance Corporal Frederick Amanor Skalla.
Confirmed information available to this portal thepublisheronline.com indicates, Madam Patience Sarfo is a happy mother as a very beautiful house has been presented to her. She then moves from the ‘kiosk’ she was IN time back to a newly finished apartment.
Sources also indicates that, is a 3 bedroom apartment with high class security arrangement, venue of the said house refused to the disclosed to the general public.
BACKGROUND
A video of the policeman in an altercation with the woman, Patience Osafo, 36 who was at the Shiashie branch of Midland Savings and Loans Limited, sent outrage across social and mainstream media.
In the video, the policeman is seen using an umbrella to hit the woman, who is carrying her two-month-old baby.
The policeman then hit her with his hand and dragged her on the floor. The woman wailed bitterly while she went through her ordeal at the financial institution. Subsequently, the policeman was arrested and placed in custody and investigations into the case was initiated.
Addditionally, the victim was contacted and her statement was taken by the police to get her side of the story.
The Police then issued a medical form to the victim and the baby who were seen in the video being hit with an umbrella while the woman was slapped and kicked by the policeman.
According to the police administration, the victim and the baby were treated at the Police Hospital and discharged.
Information available indicates, The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters is currently conducting further investigations.
