The outspoken head pastor of the Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has said here were plans to get him killed because he speaks truth to power and it was scary to a point he had to flee Ghana in May this year to seek refuge in the United States of America for some weeks.
The firebrand preacher made the jaw-dropping disclosure during a sermon at the Tesano headquarters of his church on Sunday December 15.
“For eight years now, this voice has been screaming, ranting to Jubilee House; be careful, be humble, connect with the people, don’t lose the common touch but they would not listen. They would not listen to the point that this year, from May, my personal life, from our personal intel, was under threat. I had to travel to live in the United States for almost one month because you don’t have to be in Ghana because someone does not want to hear the truth”, Prophet Kofi Oduro noted during the sermon.
He did not add further details about the death threat, who exactly issues it and in what form it was to have taken.
The preacher, in her sermon admonished his congregation to take a cue from the political loss of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and learn that positions of power and influence are temporal fleeting vanities which should be handled with care.
Kofi Oduro expressed surprise about the parliamentary election results of Okaikwei Central where his church is located.
He noted in the sermon: “I have never been shocked in my life like this current election. The shocker of all is my own personal MP, Hon. Patrick Yaw Boamah. I never believed even till this morning.
“It takes only a fool who cannot sit down to reflect. There is no MP I know that is best like my MP. Over 200 people are studying in the university from this constituency so by now if this MP goes through this, everybody must be able to come to a sober reflection. What went wrong?
“You think this is not part of church, then your mind is away from the truth; we are no t talking about his MP we are talking about you. This thing applies to everybody, bring your mind, for eight years now, this voice has been screaming, ranting to Jubilee House; be careful, be humble, connect with the people, don’t lose the common touch but they would not listen.”
