Police Adopts New Strategy In Kumasi
THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command has adopted a new strategy leading to the arrest of drivers that operate in the city without license.
Police patrol teams in the city nowadays strategically position themselves on roads that are not busy, especially during the night, to trap unlicensed drivers.
Until now, drivers have had the notion that police patrol teams only operate on busy streets.
This decision by the police has led to the arrest of several drivers who were without proper license.
THE PUBLISHER on Monday night spotted a police patrol team that had arrested several drivers who were without license at a secret location at Ahodwo, a suburb of Kumasi.
A policeman, who demanded anonymity, said the change in tactics have helped the police to make several arrests and seizure of many illegal weapons and contraband goods.
He disclosed that the new operational tactic in one of the strategies of the IGP, David Asante-Apeatu.
