They were arrested on the evening of Sunday, 29 April 2018 with the help of the locals in the area.
The suspects were said to be operating and robbing residents of Tontokrom.
Locals blew the whistle on their operations and gave the suspects a chase.
About three barriers mounted by the locals on the road were broken through by the suspects who were using a sprinter bus to carry out their operations.
Military men who were said to be patrolling Asanko Mines together with some policemen upon intelligence mounted a barrier at Manso Adubia and in the process arrested the suspects when they reached the barrier.
The Sprinter bus used by the suspects was burnt by the locals.
Guns concealed under the seats of the sprinter bus used by the suspects were retrieved, Mr Amponsah Samuel, Assembly Member for Datano electoral area told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah.
Police also found some talisman on the suspects, he said.
Sources in the police at the Manso Nkwanta police command say the Sprinter bus used by the suspects had been searched by some police personnel at some barriers on Manso Nkwanta road when they were heading towards the area before the robbers, but they could only find talisman on them.
Questions posed by police to the suspects over the talisman was said to have been answered that they were mallams and one of their members had died in the area, and for that reason, they were heading toward the area to perform some rituals for his burial.
