A SUSPECTED marijuana dealer at Atimatim near Kumasi has been apprehended by the police and efforts are underway to nab his accomplice, who escaped arrest.
Enoch Kusi, the Wee Dealer, was reportedly picked up during an unannounced swoop by the Mamponteng District Police at Atimatim on November 26, this year.
After his arrest, the police subjected Kusi to a thorough search they found 33 paper wrappers and quantities of dried leaves, suspected to be Indian Hemp, on him.
However, one Sarfo, who is said to be Kusi’s main partner in the narcotic drugs business at Atimatim and the nearby communities, managed to fled the scene and he is now hiding somewhere.
A police report, which THE NEW PUBLISHER has sighted, said a former Community Protection Assistant staff in the community, played a leading role in the arrest of Kusi.
“On 26/11/2022, police in Taabuom had an information that suspects Enoch Kusi and Sarfo, now at large, were selling narcotic drugs at Atimatim”, the police report disclosed.
The report added that “The police assisted by a former Community Protection Assistant, went there for their arrest” in order to stop the illegal business there.
However, the police said Sarfo, managed to escape from the scene but Enoch Kusi was arrested together with “33 paper wrappers and quantities of dried leaves, suspected to be Indian Hemp”.
Meanwhile, the Taabuom police, who are under the Mamponteng District Police, have intensified search for the immediate arrest of Sarfo for him to also face the law.
