THE POLICE are on the heels of a trigger-happy man, who has allegedly shot another man dead, following a heated argument over an amount of GHC20 in a drinking bar.
The suspect after committing the heinous crime at Bonkro community, near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region on December 3, 2021, went into hiding to escape arrest.
The suspect, name not known by the paper for now, pulled the trigger at close range, killing Kwaku Vasco, who is reported to be 40 years old, ending his life in the process.
A police document seen by The New Publisher, disclosed that Kwaku Vasco and his friends had visited Bonkro community on the day to attend a funeral rites.
Kwaku Vasco and his friends then entered a drinking bar and purchased four bottles of soft drinks, and they claimed to have paid an amount of GHC20 to the drinking bar attendant.
At that point, the suspect, who was also at the drinking bar, instantly rebutted Vasco and his friends claim that they have paid the said GHC20 to the bar attendant for the soft drinks.
This generated into a heated argument and verbal battle between Vasco and his friends on one side and the suspect, who then rushed to his house for his long gun.
The suspect returned to the bar with his long gun and was said to have fired a bullet into the chest of Vasco, who collapsed and bled profusely until he died. The suspect then fled and the police are now on his heels to face the law.
