TWO SEPARATE residential robbery operations have been recorded by the police around the Abuakwa area, near Kumasi, just last week.
As a result of the scary security report, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has summoned top police officers at Abuakwa to a meeting.
The crunch meeting, expected to take place at the regional police headquarters this week, would also be graced by other top police officers in Kumasi.
ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO, has disclosed that the officers at Abuakwa would explain why the robberies took place.
Also, he disclosed that the police officers would use the meeting for formulate a security strategy that would help prevent another robbery case.
ASP Ahianyo, who was speaking on Akoma fm in Kumasi, said residential robberies in Kumasi and the nearby areas have been reduced in recent times.
“We used to record residential robbery cases in Kumasi and the nearby communities in some years past, but the trend had changed for the better.
“During the first quarter of this year, we did not record any major residential robbery case in Kumasi and the nearby areas and that was encouraging”.
ASP Ahianyo indicated that to record two residential robbery cases in the Abuakwa area, should be a major concern for the regional command.
“That is why the command has summoned the officers at the Abuakwa area to a meeting to help find antidotes to the rising robbery cases”, he disclosed.
