Police Grab 4 Suspects …Over Prampram Chief Murder

The Prampram Divisional police Command has arrested four persons including the stool father of the Prampram traditional Area Nii Nartey a.ka. Donkor over the murder of the chief of the area on Wednesday.

The Mankralo of the Prampram Traditional Area Nene Atsuru Benta III was shot and killed on Wednesday whilst returning from a Regional House of Chiefs meeting at Dodowa.

Briefing the media at Prampram on Friday the Prampram Divisional Police Commander ACP Godact Dodzi Hlordzi indicated that the murder of the Mankralo happened in a different jurisdiction hence working hand in hand with the other command.

He added that the police will further proceed to court for the suspects to be remanded into lawful custody for further investigations.

He however refused to mention neither the names of those arrested nor the number of people arrested than that of the Stool Father, but information’s gathered by the paper indicates that the police have arrested a total of 4 suspects including the Stool father.

Commander Hlordzi assured of beefing up security in all corners of Prampram so as to foil any reprisal attack in other to ensure total peace.

The Ningo-Prampram District chief executive Jonathan Paa Nii Doku appealed to all citizens to go about their business activities as usual without any fear.

He assured that the District Security Committee DISEC, has put in place measures to promote peace in the area.

The Prampram Manklalo Nene Atsure Benta III, who was also acting as the Paramount Chief of the Prampram Traditional Area was killed by some unknown assailants after attempts by his Stool father to destool him on Wednesday was met with violent attack in Prampram.

Narrating the incident to THE PUBLISHER in the deceased residence, his personal Secretary (Name withheld) stated that he was first contacted by an eyewitness who told him (Secretary) that about 4:30pm at the spot of incident an unidentified man tried to stop the Manklalo’s Benz car which he was driving alone but the Manklalo refused to stop even though he reduced the speed of the vehicle.

He further narrated that another private car quickly picked the man and they drove at a top speed over took the Manklalo’s car where they blocked his vehicle with their car.

He said the men numbering about 4 came out of their car, forced opened the Manklalo’s car and shot at him 6 times killing him instantly.

The head of family Numo Nelson Nathaniel Nartey told THE PUBLISHER that the family is in a state of shock as they have no idea as to what might have triggered the killing of their Royal.

He said currently the family is grieving their loss and would therefore wait and look up to the security services for a thorough investigation to be done and get all the perpetrators punished.

He however stated that there might be some person(s) within the family who might have been involved the gruesome murder.

The wife of the late Nene Atsure Benta iii, was unable to utter a word as she wept uncontrollably when the DCE, Jonathan Doku and Personnel from the Prampram Divisional Police Command led by ACP Godact Dodzie Hlordzi paid a visit to their residence to commiserate with the bereaved family.
