The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for occupants of a black 4X4 SUV who reportedly shot occupants of a silver-coloured Kia private saloon car at the Steps to Christ polling station in the Awutu Senya East constituency in the Central region.
Two persons in the Kia saloon car, with registration number GW 2375-20, sustained gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting incident.
One of the victims, who is a party agent for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), told Citi News he was in a vehicle returning from the centre with two other persons when they met some individuals in a Toyota Landcruiser who questioned them about their whereabouts.
The group then opened fire on them, wounding two of them in the process, according to reports.
In a statement, the police indicated that any allegations of impropriety will be investigated.
This same centre was marred by an incident of violence during the voter registration exercise.
