The police have identified the prime suspect in the murder of Francis ‘Nana Pooley’ Frimpong, Asante Kotoko’s devoted supporter, who was stabbed in Nsoatre during the club’s Ghana Premier League matchday 19 clash against Nsoatreman.
On Monday, February 17th 2025, the case was heard in court as Kotoko continued their quest for justice. Speaking to the media after the proceedings, the club’s spokesperson, Lawyer Samuel Sarfo Duku, confirmed the latest developments.
“There were initially three arrests—Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, his bodyguard, and another person. Two were granted bail, but the third was denied. His lawyer applied for bail today,” he stated.
He further revealed that the police have identified the prime suspect as Brimah, who remains on the run.
“If you look at the second case made by the police against the six people arrested in total, they say they have identified the person who killed as Brimah. He has been on the run,” he added.
Over the weekend, Kotoko held a one-week memorial for Pooley. The event drew club executives, players, and supporters, all united in mourning the loyal fan while demanding swift justice for his tragic death.
