Police Intercepts GHS300K Worth Of ‘wee’
A team of 25 SWAT police personnel of the Ghana Police Service in the Volta Region led by ASP Banini, on Saturday, 8 December 2018 intercepted substances believed to be Indian hemp at a hideout in Kpeve.
Speaking to the media, the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP F.E. Doku, said acting upon intelligence, his personnel were able to intercept about 50 sacks of dry leaves believed to be Indian hemp, five barrels of the herbs, four locally manufactured guns and two unregistered jungle motorbikes used by the suspects before they fled into the bush while his men were trying to apprehend them.
Four of the suspects have been picked up as investigations proceed.
They are Prosper Donkor, 27; Adomla Torvor, 70; Gati Samuel, 38; and Dotse Noah, 25.
Mr Doku said the suspects will be arraigned on Tuesday, 11 December 2018.
