ROBBERY ATTACKS have become rampant on the campus of the Asante Mampong Midwifery and Nursing Training College so authorities have appealed to the police for help.
The passionate appeal of the school had been granted as armed police personnel, have, reportedly, commenced patrols in the school in order to help prevent further robbery attacks.
A source, who disclosed the information to THE PUBLISHER, said several female students, who are the prime targets of the robbers, have been robbed of their valuables recently.
According to her, the female victims of the robbery attacks usually lost their mobile phones, money and hand bags, adding that in some few occasions some of the victims were stabbed.
The source noted that the robbery attacks were increasing at an alarming rate lately and this unpleasant situation had even sparked fear and anxiety among the trainee nurses.
She said the students had even stopped visiting campus to study in the evening as some of their colleagues were attacked by the robbers, most who are young boys, whilst on their way to campus to study.
According to the source, the school authorities in an attempt to stop the rampant robberies had engaged the police and some community police assistants to patrol the school’s vast campus.
In a related development, reports indicate that Kwame Frimpong, 19 sand Kwabena Wireko, 12, have been arrested for being part of the robbers who have been tormenting the students.
The paper has also gathered that most of the robbery victims have been able to identify the two boys as the people, who robbed them at knife-point, right in the presence of the police.
