The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) is steadily conducting elections in the various constituencies throughout the country and will soon move to the regional level by May 2018.
“In June, we will turn our attention to the overseas branches of the party,” the Founder and Leader of the PPP, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has disclosed.
Addressing a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, Dr Nduom said the PPP remained active and strengthened its presence in the towns and villages across the country.
The press conference was on local government, decentralisation and the election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
Party in waiting
According to Dr Nduom the PPP remained the alternative party in waiting and preparing itself to be given the opportunity to deliver great results as a party in power.
“Our party’s representatives can be heard on radio and television making contributions to discussions on national affairs. To them, the party’s leadership sends a big “thank you for the time and the numerous sacrifices,” he stated.
He said that the PPP was not giving up its quest for the presidency anytime soon as he had reiterated his resolve to continuously put in measures to strengthen the PPP and provide Ghanaians an alternative to the two major political parties in the country; the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.
According to him, it’s a huge step that representatives of his party were now heard on radio and television making contributions to discussions on national issues.
