President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has named the boss of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Jean Adukwei Mensah, as the new chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
She replaces the recently ousted Mrs. Charlotte Osei as the new Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
Mrs. Charlotte Osei was sacked from the office of the Electoral Commission for reasons cited as corruption, abuse of office and incompetence.
A statement signed by the Chief of Staff Frema Opare, also named Mr. Samuel Tettey together with Dr. Eric Asare Bossman, as Deputy Chairpersons and Ms. Adwoa Asuama Abrefa, as a Member of the Commission.
“President Akufo-Addo is hopeful that the Council of State will discharge its constitutional duty expeditiously, to enable hint make these critical appointments to this very important institution of State,” – the statement reveals.
Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa is currently the Executive Director of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), and Co-ordinator of the Ghana Political Parties Programme.
